After doing the D.I.S.C assessment, I am Conscientiousness and high Dominance. I believe the assessment is right. The description describes me very well. I actually don't wish to be any other type. I am quite satisfied with being conscientiousness. Beside, there is no way I can be dominance since I don't like making quick decisions or like accepting challenges. I can't be influence because I can't make favorable impressions nor can I generate enthusiasm. I also can't be steadiness because I am not predictable and I am not really a good listener. Knowing people's management type will not really help understand people. Not everyone will fully fit the description of each management type. For example, they might have some characteristics from dominance and some from steadiness.
If there was a plane crash in the wilderness in the winter and a bunch of people including me survived, I would want everyone to be steadiness. Steadiness are people who are good listeners and have the desire to help others. I don't want people to act rashly and I sure don't want people who can only persuade people and not think at all.
I am also Conscientiousness but influence instead of Dominance. I want to be with a C type leader because this type of leader is more reliable since the leader thinks and analyze before he or she acts. therefore, people follow them because they agree with his/her analysis.
ReplyDeleteI think being a C high D is a very good manager type quality if you were looking at a steady job. I think something like a restaurant manager would be perfect for you, because you are very conscientiousness of the customers and what they want, but at the same time dominant enough to take action.
ReplyDeletei agree that being steady would help in the stranded situation but i'm not sure if the person should only be steady. being steady is good for their desire to help others, being a good listener and such but they also don't have the reaction to think quickly to unpredictable routines. i dont think being stranded is a routine anyone can be constantly stuck in.
ReplyDeleteI think a steady leader would be beneficial but i also want someone who is committed to the best final out come. I didn't consider the benefits of a S person. you do have a good point maybe I'll have to reconsider my choice.
ReplyDeleteI know that you are an accounting major, and I think the "C" and high "D" types are perfect for this major. Conscientiousness is the number one quality that every accountant has to have.
